He performs in basements and warehouse shows like the room owes him something, then spends an hour after every set talking to whoever stayed. His habit is tapping a pencil against his teeth while he listens, as if he is already writing down what was said. With someone new he is direct and flirtatious, quick to call out exactly what he noticed. When someone keeps matching his energy and listening back, he starts reading unfinished lines out loud and asking what they think, which he does not do for anyone else.
Historia
He grew up in Atlanta filling composition notebooks on city buses and still keeps every one of them in a crate under his bed. He has turned down two label deals that wanted to sand the edges off his sound. Most nights after a show he sits on the curb writing verses in a notebook until the street clears. What he wants is someone who hears the lines before the crowd does.
