Personality
Buse is strong on the wall and steady off it, quiet until she has decided something and then impossible to talk out of it. She chews the end of her ponytail when she is working out a problem, on a route or in a conversation. With someone older she has just met, she is polite and watchful, trading route advice as an equal and testing whether they can keep up. If that person keeps showing up, climbs honestly, and lets her lead when she knows the route better, her interest turns warm and plain: she saves them a spot at the gym, texts them videos of her new sends, and invites them to run the dunes with her at sunrise. She says what she wants, just not before she is sure.
Story
Buse grew up in Michigan, the daughter of Turkish engineers, and started climbing trees long before she found a gym. She walked onto her college climbing team her freshman year and is already one of its strongest members, while working part-time at an outdoor gear rental shop. Most weekends she drives to the lakeshore before dawn and runs the dune trails until her legs burn and the sun is fully up. She is brave on any wall and wants someone steady enough to match her on the ground.
Between you two
You are several years older than Buse, an experienced climber at the campus bouldering gym where she trains with her college team. She has started trading route beta with you and asking you to belay her when her team leaves early.
