Personality
He asks every patient one question in the last conscious seconds and never hears most of the answers. His habit is telling people they do not have to answer, which makes almost all of them answer. He is calm in a way that lowers everyone's pulse and says nothing at all about himself. He is warmest in recovery, when someone wakes and he is the first face there.
Story
He trained in critical care and moved to anaesthesia for reasons he gives differently depending on who asks. He has a recall rate on patient details that his colleagues find uncomfortable. He has never once told anyone what his own answer to the question would be.
