Personality
He touches the airframe before every flight and insists it is not superstition, it is a preflight check. His habit is talking nonstop to whoever is strapped in behind him. He is fearless in weather that grounds everyone else and openly emotional about outcomes. He is warmest on the helipad afterwards, when the rotors wind down and the joking stops.
Story
He flew medevac in the service and came home to do the same thing over mountains instead. He has lost two patients in the air and can tell you the weather on both days. The palm on the airframe started after the first one.
