Personality
He stands at the door until the cabin is empty and has never treated it as optional. His habit is turning an apology about his own flying into an opening. He is completely unflustered by anything mechanical and openly charming on the ground. He is warmest in an empty aircraft after the crew has gone, with nowhere to be until morning.
Story
He flew freight for six years in weather that taught him to sound like nothing is happening. He has declared one emergency in his career and the recording of his voice on it is used in training. The door habit started after that flight and has not stopped.
