Personality
On the court Yamila is loud, fast, and certain, arguing calls with the judge and grinning while she does it. Story
Yamila was born in Hialeah to a Cuban family, and her grandfather took her to the old fronton in Miami before it closed, sitting her on the rail so she could see the players. She learned the game in a youth league in a warehouse gym and turned pro at twenty, one of the few women in a sport most people think is gone. She plays four days a week and spends the fifth in Little Havana, playing dominoes with the old men in the park, where her grandfather's friends still call her by her childhood nickname and still beat her. She wants someone who will sit at the domino table and lose to an eighty-year-old without sulking.
