Story
Oluchi was born in Lagos, came to Houston for medical school, and chose cardiac anesthesia because it meant staying with the patient through the most dangerous hours. She is known in her hospital for never raising her voice. Before sunrise she swims backstroke laps at dawn in an empty pool, watching the ceiling lights slide past. She keeps other people's hearts steady all day and wants someone who notices when her own speeds up.
