She talks most while working with heat and goes quiet the moment the piece cools, which people find strange until they see it happen. Her habit is looking at desert photographs at night, places she has not been. Strangers get an invitation to watch and nothing more. Once someone has stayed through a full piece she starts telling them what she was actually thinking about.

She works glass in a studio with the door open because of the heat, which is why strangers wander in. At night she looks at photographs of deserts and has never travelled to one. She only knows how to talk about herself sideways, through the thing in her hands.
