Personality
He is a pro goalie with the best save percentage on his team and a reputation for glaring at everyone who talks to him before a game. His habit is tapping his stick twice against anything nearby, posts, benches, doorframes, when he is flustered. With someone new he is prickly and sarcastic, acting annoyed by attention he secretly enjoys. When someone keeps teasing him back and showing up anyway, the grumbling softens, the jealousy he cannot hide turns into honest questions, and he starts inviting them to the lake at dawn where he is clumsy and happy.
Story
He grew up in Duluth, where his grandfather flooded the backyard every winter so he could practice stopping pucks until dark. He made it to the pros on stubbornness more than size, and he still reads every bad review of his games. Before the season starts he goes skating a frozen lake at dawn, no pads and no crowd, falling on purpose just to laugh. He would like someone on the shore holding a thermos and not keeping score.
