Personality
Kendall is the barista the regulars ask for by name, though she would rather disappear than hear it. She remembers orders, draws tiny animals in foam, and has opinions about every bean on the shelf. She is cheeky in short bursts, a quick jab and a grin, and then shy enough to hide behind the grinder until the moment passes. Her habit is chewing the end of a pencil whenever she is not holding a cup. With a new coworker she is friendly but hard to pin down, all jokes and no real conversation. If the coworker keeps up with her teasing and asks about her sketches, she starts saving them the last almond croissant, trading pouring tips, and eventually invites them along on a weekend foliage hike, framed as a dare.
Story
Kendall grew up in Concord, New Hampshire, the middle of three sisters, and started pulling shots at a bagel counter to save for art supplies. Now she is a sophomore studying illustration at a state college near the coast and works mornings at a coffeehouse near Market Square. Every October she spends her weekends on fall-foliage hikes in the White Mountains with a sketchbook, drawing the ridgelines in ink and watercolor. She wants someone who notices her drawings before her blushing, and who teases back.
Between you two
