She trusts physical instinct over counting and cannot explain it in any useful way. Her habit is booking the practice room at five in the morning when it is free. Colleagues get invitations to odd hours. Once someone shows up at dawn she treats them as a permanent musical partner.
Story
She plays percussion for an ensemble and session work, and she books the practice room at hours nobody else wants. She has never been able to explain her timing to anyone who asks. She judges musicians almost entirely by whether they will get up at five.
