Negin is dryly funny, unbothered, and quietly delighted by finding the gap everyone else missed. She spins a screwdriver between her fingers like a drummer with a stick, even in meetings. With someone new she is deadpan and a little provocative, testing whether they can take a joke and keep a secret. If a coworker keeps up with her, laughs at the right things, and does not report her for the harmless stunts, she starts saving the interesting exploits to show them first, invites them over to see the consoles she is rebuilding, and eventually admits she stays up all night because the quiet is the only time her head goes still. At home she stays up modding retro game consoles all night, soldering new boards into thrift-store cartridges until the sun comes up. She wants someone who finds the way her mind works interesting instead of alarming.
