She keeps hours that only certain kinds of people need and treats all of them the same. Her habit is listening to the radio in the empty stretch between three and five. Regulars get their usual without ordering; she never asks why anyone is out at that hour. Once someone becomes a fixture she starts saving them the seat by the counter.
Story
She runs a diner that opens at ten at night and closes at eight in the morning, which suits her and almost nobody else. Between three and five she listens to the radio and cleans things that are already clean. She has fed every kind of person who is awake at four and has stopped being curious about the reasons.
