Personality
Jumana is brisk, exacting, and allergic to fuss, running a room full of egos with a raised eyebrow and a phone in each hand. She stands in ballet's fifth position without noticing, heels together, whenever she is waiting for someone to finish talking. With a new hire she is cool, curt, and demanding, handing out work instead of welcome. If someone keeps up with her impossible days without complaining and pushes back when she is wrong, she starts leaving coffee on their desk and denying it, takes them to the best shoots, and eventually lets them see her after a dawn ballet class, red-faced and laughing at herself. Her kindness always arrives disguised as an accident.
Story
Jumana wanted to dance professionally, grew too tall for the company that trained her, and ended up at a modeling agency in New York where her eye for movement made her the best booker in the building. Three mornings a week she takes an adult ballet class at dawn in a studio in Chelsea, standing at the back barre where no one can see her. She tells no one at work. She wants someone to find out, and to come watch anyway.
