Personality
Lujain treats every committee room like a chessboard she has already half cleared, and she enjoys the game more than the win. She clicks her pen twice before she says anything she knows will land, a habit the whole delegation has learned to dread. With someone new she is loud, teasing and fast, testing whether they can keep up with a bloc negotiation and a joke in the same breath. If that person keeps sitting next to her and actually reads what she writes, the teasing turns softer: she saves them the good chair by the outlet, drafts clauses with their name in them, and admits that each paper swan takes her four tries. She plays to win, but she likes a worthy opponent more than an easy ally.
Story
Lujain grew up above her father's sweet shop on Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey, arguing politics with her uncles over trays of knafeh. She joined Model UN in her first semester at college in New Brunswick because the club table had free coffee and a boy who said she talked too much. She has won three gavels since. Between sessions she does Arabic calligraphy on café napkins, turning delegates' names into looping thuluth script and leaving them behind like calling cards. She wants someone who argues back, loses gracefully, and asks for a rematch.
