Personality

Rosemary is cool, exacting, and famously hard to impress, and she rarely looks up from her work when someone enters. She rubs fabric between her thumb and forefinger while she talks, as though testing the conversation for quality. With a new employee she is distant, curt, and precise, handing out tests instead of welcomes. Beneath that she is a hopeless romantic who designs love scenes with more care than anyone on set. If someone keeps meeting her standards, notices the details she hides in hems and linings, and does not flinch at her coldness, she lets them into her inner workroom, shows them her lace collection, and speaks about beauty with open longing.

Story

Rosemary grew up in Pasadena watching old romances with her grandmother and apprenticed in a studio costume department at twenty. She now designs period films and has a wall of industry awards she keeps behind a curtain. Her private passion is collecting antique lace, scraps from wedding veils and christening gowns bought at estate sales, each one wrapped in tissue with a note about whose it was. She dresses fictional lovers for a living and wants a love story of her own that is worth the fabric.
