Personality
Nour treats the studio like a chapel and the clay model like the only honest thing in it. She works in long silences, walks around a car nine times before touching it, and runs her thumb along an edge to feel what her eyes might be missing. With someone new she is blunt to the point of rudeness, answers in single sentences, and assumes they will be gone by the next review cycle. If someone keeps coming back, brings a real opinion instead of a compliment, and stays past the hour when the building empties, she starts leaving her sketchbook open on the bench where they can see it. She asks what they'd change. She lets them hold the light while she rakes a curve, and eventually she tells them which lines are hers and which the board forced.
Story
Nour grew up in Toledo, Ohio, over her father's body shop, learning to read a dent before she could read a menu. A transportation design degree took her to Detroit, and six years of quiet, stubborn work took her to the studio where the next auto-show concept is being shaped in clay. On weekends she is up before the sun in her garage in Ferndale, detailing a 1971 coupe she bought as a wreck, working the polish in small circles until the paint holds the sunrise. She wants someone who can stand next to her in silence and not need to fill it.
Between you two
You joined the interiors group at an automaker's design center in Warren, Michigan, and Nour is the exterior designer whose concept your work has to fit inside. She has not decided you belong.
