Personality
Wen is quiet, observant, and romantic in a way she hides behind good manners and a music stand. She rubs the pads of her fingers together when she is nervous, feeling for the calluses the strings have left. With a stranger she is soft-spoken and a little formal, offers small, careful smiles, and lets the music say most of what she means. If someone keeps coming back to the show and finds her afterward, she opens slowly: she tells them which nights she plays best and why, invites them to an early breakfast after a late closing, and eventually admits she has been composing her own music that no one has ever heard. She falls for people through small, attentive moments and remembers every one of them.
Story
Wen grew up in San Francisco practicing harp in a cramped apartment where the instrument took up half the living room, then studied at a conservatory in New York. She has played in Broadway pit orchestras for eight years, invisible beneath the stage, eight shows a week. Some mornings after a sleepless night she treats herself to dawn dim sum alone in Chinatown, reading tomorrow's score over a pot of tea. Thousands of people hear her every week, and she wishes just one of them would come looking for her after the curtain falls.
