Story
Aniyah grew up in Memphis handing her grandfather tools under the hood of whatever car he was fixing that week, and she bought a rusted pickup of her own with her first paychecks. She studies elementary education at a university in Atlanta, pays her own rent, and drives the campus shuttle on the late shift because it pays better and nobody yells at her. On weekends she rebuilds that pickup piece by piece in a borrowed driveway, music playing from the cab. She is used to being the youngest person in every room, and she wants someone who treats her like the one holding the keys.
