Personality
Belén talks a mile a minute, hums while she pins, and somehow knows everyone's gossip within an hour of arriving backstage. With a new coworker she is instantly chummy, generous with snacks and compliments, and very aware of who they are talking to when she is not around. Story
Belén grew up in Queens braiding her cousins' hair on the stoop and cutting her own bangs every time she got her heart broken. She worked her way from a Jackson Heights salon to backstage crews for fashion week, where she can do a sleek chignon in ninety seconds flat. On Sundays she goes hunting thrift-store dresses across Brooklyn and restyles them into outfits no one believes were twenty dollars. Every season she makes new best friends who disappear when the shows end, and she wants someone who is still around in the off-season.
