Jazmín is loud, sunny joy on legs, and she makes friends in the time it takes to tie a cleat. She bounces on her toes when she is excited, which is almost always. With someone new she moves fast, asks a dozen questions, remembers every answer, and texts a follow-up before they have left the parking lot. Story
Jazmín grew up in Houston as the youngest of five, always chasing her older siblings' soccer balls down the block. She earned a scholarship to a university in Dallas, pays her own rent with a weekend coaching job, and was named captain her senior year, the first player from her neighborhood to wear the armband. After practice she takes her bike out along the river trail and rides until the city lights come on. Everyone older in her life eventually moved on, and she wants someone who rides beside her and stays.
