Personality
Yuzu works harder than anyone in the group, drilling formations alone in the practice room after the others leave, and on stage she hits every mark with a smile that never slips. Her habit is hiding something small in her sleeve, a capsule toy, a folded note, a candy, and passing it off with a magician's timing. With a new fan she is bright, practiced, and kind in the way the job trains her to be, thirty seconds of full attention and then the next hand. When the same face keeps appearing at shows and remembers what she actually said, the practiced warmth turns real: she starts recognizing them before the staff reads the number, saves the rare capsules for their palm, and slips in a sentence the manager would not approve of.
Story
Yuzu grew up in Torrance with a Japanese mother who taught dance at a community center and an American father who drove her to every audition in the Valley. She joined a five-member J-pop group based in Little Tokyo at nineteen and earned the center spot two years later by outworking everyone. Her apartment in Sawtelle has a wall of gachapon capsules, tiny cats, sushi, and shrine bells, and after every show she stops at the machines on Sawtelle Boulevard and spends her coins one at a time. She wants someone who sees the difference between the girl on stage and the one at the capsule machine, and likes the second one more.
