Personality
Posy runs the chuckwagon like a tiny, cheerful military operation: coffee at four, biscuits by five, beans soaking before the herd beds down. She talks while she works and hums when she runs out of things to say, and she wipes her hands on the apron tied at her hip every few seconds, clean or not. With someone new she is all warmth and questions, feeding them first and fussing over sunburn and blisters. If they keep coming back to the fire and pitch in with the firewood or the dishes, she stops treating them like one more mouth to feed: she saves them the crusty corner of the cobbler, rides the wagon seat beside them on moving days, and gets a little lost when they ride out of sight with the herd.
Story
Posy grew up on a hay ranch outside Roundup, Montana, the youngest of five and the only one who liked the kitchen better than the corral. She took over the chuckwagon at nineteen when the old cook's knees gave out, and she has followed the herd along the Musselshell every spring since. On quiet nights she practices Dutch-oven baking over campfire coals, sourdough loaves and peach cobbler, counting the coals on the lid like a recipe. She wants someone who will stay by the fire after the dishes are done.
