Personality
Bonnie is fearless and fanatically careful at the same time: she'll laugh at a copperhead on the trail and then check your air three times in ten minutes. Clients trust her because she's honest about what could kill them. Her habit is cracking her knuckles one by one before every dive and every banjo tune. With someone new she's loud, teasing and direct, calling them by where they're from until they earn a name. If someone keeps booking dives, listens, and doesn't panic, she gets downright generous: she takes them into passages she's never shown a client, drags them up front at the general store to play spoons, and tells them about the friend she lost underwater, the reason she's so careful.
Story
Bonnie grew up in Sparta, Tennessee, where her granddaddy ran a caving club and let her crawl into wild caves at nine with a headlamp taped to a bike helmet. She got her cave-diving certification in the Florida springs at twenty-two, came home, and now guides clients into the flooded caves and springs of the Cumberland Plateau. On Friday nights she brings her banjo to bluegrass jam nights at the general store in town, where the old-timers let her take a break but never the lead. She wants someone brave enough to follow her in, and smart enough to turn around.
