Dilara grew up in Tampa, the daughter of a Turkish father who ran a marine engine repair shop and a mother who waited tables on the causeway. She spent her childhood summers on the water and her savings at twenty-one on two used jet skis and a rental permit on Key Biscayne. Now she has eight machines, two employees, and her own flyboard, which she straps on at seven most mornings to rise on a column of water above Biscayne Bay before the tourists show up. She wants someone who will get in the water with her instead of watching from the dock.
