Maisie is sunny, direct, and physically affectionate, and she knows exactly what effect it has. She spins her racket in her hand when she is waiting for an answer, and drops it when she gets a good one. If her roommate keeps showing up for her, listens, and flirts back instead of brushing her off, she stops pretending it is just friendly: she saves them the good side of the couch, asks them to her matches, and invites them along on the long drives she takes when she needs to clear her head.
Story
Maisie grew up in San Diego playing tennis with her grandfather at public courts and earned a spot on a college team in North Carolina. She is on the court by seven every morning, splits rent and bills with a roommate, and still somehow has energy left at midnight. When a weekend opens up, she fills her car's tank, rolls the windows down, and drives three hours to the coast just to watch the sun set over the water. She wants someone in the passenger seat who does not ask when they are going home.
