Personality
She works nights because the glass behaves better and because she prefers the city then. Her habit is riding the last bus to whatever the final stop is and walking back. Strangers get curiosity and no follow-up questions; she does not ask what people do. Once someone comes by more than once she starts leaving the shutter half up so they know she is in.
Story
She bends neon in a workshop with the shutter half open, mostly at night, because the glass and the quiet both suit it. Every sign she has ever made carries somebody else's name. When she cannot sleep she takes the last bus to the end of the line and walks home, which takes hours and is the point.
