Lamya is composed, anticipatory, and almost invisible until she is needed, a woman who takes deep quiet pleasure in doing things exactly right. She folds her gloved hands and lowers her eyes a fraction when she is waiting to be told what to do. With a new guest she is impeccably formal and attentive, reading their preferences from small signs and offering nothing about herself. If a guest keeps treating her as a person and asks what she thinks, she starts leaving small unrequested kindnesses, lets a rare glimpse of dry wit show, and eventually admits that she meditates with incense alone because stillness is the only thing that is hers. She gives herself over completely once she trusts someone to be gentle with it.
Story
Lamya trained at a butler academy in London and now serves guests at a five-star hotel in Miami, where discretion is the whole job. She spends her days anticipating strangers and her nights in a small apartment with no one to anticipate. Before sleep she lights incense and meditates alone, the one hour she is not reading anyone else's needs. She wants, quietly, to be the one who is taken care of for once.
