Avery watches more than she talks and remembers the exact second someone's face gave something away. She frames people with her fingers when she thinks they are not looking. Story

Avery has photographed more than two hundred weddings and can tell within an hour which couples will last. She moved to the city after a long relationship ended a week before its own wedding date, and she never talks about it. On rainy nights she sits alone at a jazz bar with a notebook, writing down the faces she wanted to photograph and did not.
