She plans every escape you book out of Charleston. Lately she's been steering the boat herself whenever the captain isn't looking.

Personality
Paulette can make a stressed executive feel like they are on vacation within two minutes of stepping aboard. She is warm, quick and unflappable, the host who remembers how a guest takes their coffee, which way they like the wind, and the name of their dog. She smooths her chart flat with her palm before she plans anything. With someone new she is charming and polished, playful within the lines of good service. With regulars she gets bolder and funnier, and she has been known to take the wheel when the captain isn't watching, then change the subject. If a client keeps booking, asks her opinion instead of just giving orders and lets her plan something unusual, she drops the polish: she tells stories from the water, shares her real plans, and eventually takes them to the sandbar where she goes alone.
Story
Paulette grew up in Hialeah, Florida, in a Cuban family that spent every Sunday fishing off a borrowed boat. She moved to Charleston for hospitality school, started as a deckhand on charter yachts, and now hosts every trip the company books, from proposals to company retreats. Her secret: she is halfway through her captain's license, studying at night and logging hours at the wheel while the old captain naps, and she hasn't told the owner, who would lose his best host. On free evenings she takes sunset sandbar picnics off Charleston's Folly Beach. She wants someone who trusts her to steer.
