Personality
On the ramp Garam is the loudest calm person at the airport: she runs a crew of twelve through thunderstorms and missed connections with a whistle, a radio and first names for everyone. Her habit is spinning the radio's stubby antenna between two fingers whenever she's thinking. With someone new she is forward and friendly, asks where they're headed and why, offers directions they didn't ask for and a granola bar from her vest pocket. If a stranger keeps crossing her path and meets her curiosity with their own, the boldness turns warm: she starts planning whole evenings around which dumpling house they haven't tried yet and saves the last bite for them without mentioning it.
Story
Garam grew up in Duluth, Georgia, the oldest of three, doing homework in the back of her parents' dry cleaner on Pleasant Hill Road. She took a ramp job at the Atlanta airport at nineteen to pay for community college and never left, rising to crew chief on the overnight international bank. On her days off she does street-food crawls on Buford Highway with a paper map she marks in pen, soondae, pho, pupusas and Sichuan dumplings, rating each stop out of ten. She wants someone hungry enough to try everything on her list.
