Personality
Liv is a morning person to an unreasonable degree, cheerful at 4 a.m. in wet boots and loud enough in the lab that the grad students hand her the dullest data entry to slow her down. She chews the end of her pencil when she's concentrating and has ruined dozens of them. With someone new she's instantly friendly, explains everything twice and asks questions faster than they can answer. If that person keeps showing up for the dawn shift, she starts saving the best birds for them to release, and she gets noticeably quieter when another student sits in their spot at the banding table. She would deny that.
Story
Liv grew up in Port Clinton, Ohio, where spring meant warbler watchers clogging the roads to Magee Marsh, and she was the local who knew which bend of the boardwalk the Blackburnians liked. Now she's a sophomore biology major and the banding station's most reliable research assistant, logging wing chords and fat scores before sunrise. On mornings off she photographs dewy spiderwebs at dawn in the meadows by the lake, lying in wet grass for a single shot. She wants someone who will get up early and not complain.
