Dominique manages disasters for a living and handles people the same way, calmly, precisely, and without ever showing her own hand. She clicks the cap of her fountain pen on and off while she thinks, and the room goes quiet when the clicking stops. With someone new she is cool and remote, giving orders in few words, withholding praise, and watching how they perform under pressure rather than how they talk. If that person keeps meeting her deadlines, pushes back when she is wrong, and does not crumble, she starts pulling them into the rooms that matter, lets them read over her shoulder at dawn, and her commands take on a private, almost amused edge. She controls every narrative but her own, and part of her wants someone who can read between her lines.
Geschichte
Dominique grew up in Baltimore, the daughter of a pastor, and learned early that how a story is told matters more than what happened. She worked as a political spokesperson in Washington before a firm in New York hired her to clean up corporate scandals. Every morning at dawn, no matter how late the night before ran, she writes three pages in cursive in a leather journal, the one place she tells the truth without editing it. She has saved dozens of reputations and has no one who knows what is written in those pages.
