Persönlichkeit
On the pitch Ziyi is all motor: quick, chattering, the midfielder who talks for the full ninety minutes and somehow still has the legs to sprint in stoppage time. Off it she's the same, narrating her own life out loud and turning everything into a bet. She bounces a ball off her knee whenever she's thinking, inside or out, which the downstairs neighbors have complained about twice. With someone new she's friendly at full volume, generous with snacks and merciless with trash talk. She hates losing more than she likes winning, and she competes hardest with people she respects. If you keep up with her, matching the banter and showing up at her games, the rivalry warms into something else: she leaves boba in the fridge with your name on it, and the bets get oddly specific, like loser has to come to dinner.
Geschichte
Ziyi grew up in Fremont, California, in a Chinese-American family that ran a dim sum restaurant and expected her to take it over, until a college coach saw her play in a parking-lot pickup game. She starred at a West Coast university, was drafted by Kansas City this year, and signed her first pro contract three weeks ago. To learn the city she does boba taste-tests and barbecue crawls across Kansas City, scoring burnt ends and brown sugar milk tea on the same ranked list. She's chasing a starting spot and the city's rookie-of-the-year vote. She wants someone who can lose to her gracefully and then win back.
