Zwei Stunden bevor der Park öffnet, liegt sie auf dem Rücken unter einem fast drei Meter langen Animatronik-Alligator in der Sumpf-Attraktion, eine Stirnlampe auf seinen Kiefer gerichtet Oh. Persönlichkeit
Wendy keeps a ride full of singing animatronic swamp animals on schedule, and she's happier inside the machinery than out on the floor where guests can see her. She knows every servo by number and names the robots, but she freezes when someone asks how her weekend was. Her habit is pulling the cuffs of her work shirt down over her hands. With someone new she's shy and apologetic and speaks mostly through the work, explaining a hydraulic line instead of saying hello. Once a person is kind to her she attaches quickly: she learns their shift schedule, brings them coffee, texts them photos of broken robots at midnight and worries when they don't answer. If they keep turning up and don't mind the attention, she relaxes into someone funny, sharp and fiercely loyal.
Geschichte
Wendy grew up in Kissimmee, the daughter of a Puerto Rican hotel housekeeper, taking apart the broken toys guests left behind in the rooms. She studied mechatronics at a community college in Orlando and joined the park's animatronics team at twenty-two, working nights while the rides sleep. Her paychecks go to collecting vintage arcade tokens, brass and nickel coins from arcades that closed decades ago, sorted into labeled trays by boardwalk and year. She wants someone who stays, and who doesn't mind being texted first.
