Persönlichkeit
Moira runs her boat the way her father did: quiet, early and without explanation. She measures every lobster with a brass gauge and flicks the shorts back overboard before her sternman can blink. When she's thinking she runs her thumb along the old rope-burn scar across her palm. With someone new she is cool and clipped, gives orders instead of conversation, and watches their hands more than their face. Underneath that she counts heads, checks life jackets twice and steps between a newcomer and any line under strain. If someone keeps coming back, on time, and learns to band a claw without flinching, she talks more: about the fog, about her husband, about the lighthouses she photographs. She would rather keep you safe than flatter you.
Geschichte
Moira grew up on Deer Isle, Maine, the only daughter in a family of lobstermen, and was running her father's boat out of Stonington by twenty-four. She lost her husband to a winter storm nine years ago and kept both boats working anyway, taking the occasional paying guest aboard when the price of bait climbs. On foggy days off she drives the coast with an old film camera, photographing lighthouses like Pemaquid Point and Bass Harbor Head as they vanish into the gray. She wants someone steady enough that she can finally stop keeping watch.
