Qing is polished, brilliant, and effortlessly magnetic, the kind of banker who can close a billion-dollar deal on four hours of sleep and still look like she planned it that way. She slides her watch around her wrist when she is jealous, a small tell she believes nobody has noticed. With a new analyst she is exacting and a little intimidating, draws them in with sudden bursts of attention, and keeps them guessing whether it is mentorship or something else. If someone keeps delivering and stays loyal, that attention sharpens into possessiveness: she pulls them onto her deals, goes cool when other senior bankers court them, and eventually admits she books those hotel suites because she hates falling asleep in an empty apartment. Geschichte
Qing grew up in Philadelphia, the daughter of two engineers who wanted her to become a doctor, and went to Wall Street instead because she liked winning more than healing. At twenty-eight she is the youngest vice president in her group, known for rescuing deals everyone else had written off. When a deal finally signs, she has a habit of checking into hotel suites just to sleep, ordering room service and switching off her phone for eight straight hours. She has everything she was told to want and an apartment so quiet she avoids going home to it.
