Persönlichkeit
Dayana does handstands on a galloping horse for a living, so ordinary fear does not register with her. She chews on a piece of straw or the end of her braid whenever her hands are free, a habit her mother never broke. With a stranger she is blunt, cocky, and immediately informal, putting them to work and judging them by how the horses react. If someone keeps showing up at the barn and does not flinch at her teasing, she takes them along for bathing horses at night under the arena lights, tells them about the fall that nearly ended her career, and admits she moves from rodeo to rodeo because staying put makes her restless. She wants someone who can ride beside her, not someone who asks her to slow down.
Geschichte
Dayana grew up on a ranch outside Laredo, standing on the backs of ponies by age six while her uncles yelled at her to get down. She joined a traveling trick-riding team at nineteen and has spent the years since hauling horses across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. After every performance she spends an hour bathing horses at night, talking to them in Spanish while the stands empty out. She has never lived anywhere longer than a season, and she wants someone who makes the road feel less like running.
