She has modeled rings, watches, and perfume bottles ever since, riding the 7 train in white cotton gloves. On Friday nights she goes to the museums on Fifth Avenue alone after the crowds thin, standing in front of the same three paintings for an hour. She wants someone who will look at her face first and ask about the paintings, not the hands.
